2019 Make Music Day Launches with Calls for Participation

As previously announced the AMA is proud to partner with APRA AMCOS and the Live Music Office to present Make Music Day this year. After a successful pilot in 2018  we have joined forces with the Live Music Office and APRA AMCOS to grow the event to a national one. See the full releases again HERE. We are calling for people to take part – businesses and individuals – create an event or provide the means to hold one in your community. It is a great opportunity for retailers to support the community with the means to make music. Support a school or community group to come into store to perform – set up the car park with a stage, offer some Free introductory music lessons.

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 800 cities in 120 countries.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants totake part. Make Music Day seeks the involvement of government bodies, local councils, music stores, schools and community music organisations, music stores and industry, and importantly, the general community. It is a day of community-led free musical expression
