Music Makers is the non-commercial arm of the Australian Music Association.  Member wholesalers can opt to participate through contributing 0.5% of their sales collections each quarter, which are used to create more opportunities for Australians to be actively involved with music, regardless of age or reason for playing.

Established in January 2001, Music Makers is now making a significant contribution to the future of active music making in Australia.

For more information about Music Makers, including the latest information on participating wholesalers, please go to www.musicmakers.org.au

For more information about how to participate in Music Makers as an AMA wholesaler, please read on!

How the money is spent

Every year all participating wholesalers are invited to attend the Music Makers Summit during which the AMA Executive Committee and officers report on the activities in the past twelve months to the participating wholesalers and decisions are made about strategic direction and programs.

The AMA has no authority to spend Music Makers funds, except as authorised at the Summit.

A report on the Summit is printed each year and distributed to all AMA members.  To request a copy of the last report please email to info@australianmusic.asn.au

What the collections process entails

It's very simple.  A member wholesaler declares how many staff they have and they are invoiced for the appropriate level of contributions.

There's a contract to support the agreement, which covers governance of the funds and the programs.

Levels of contribution are:

Number of employees

Contribution (inc GST) for financial year 2006/7

1-2 employees

$1,000

3 to 5 employees

$3,000

6 to 10 employees

11-15 employees

$12,000

16 to 20 employees

21-25 employees

$24,000
